I assume that many people (myself included) are a bit messier at a hotel than they are at home. The trash cans don’t have lids and people are putting food in them all the time. Not to mention crumbs all over, especially because since COVID, most hotels haven’t gone back to daily cleanings. So how are the hotels not infested with ants, fruit flies, etc?

As someone that has been travelling a lot recently…
1. Not sure where you are staying at, but the hotels I’ve been visiting emptied all the trash on a daily basis and the floors looked like they had been cleaned just prior to my arrival (swirl marks on tile and clearly vacuumed carpets).
2. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve seen bugs/vermin in any hotel ever in my life, including in Florida. Also in general the windows don’t open in most hotels for whatever reason and I’m thinking bugs may be part of that.
3. I did not think about this until I read this post; but I think the reality is that in general I don’t eat in hotel rooms unless its a suite with a kitchen or something; as it just ‘feels’ like a bedroom and I’m OCD about not eating where I sleep. If I’m by myself I will 100% of the time eat at the hotel bar. If ya’ll eating in the beds, dat’s just nasty yo.
