No, it not like Age of Empires, the focus is on the diplomacy and on the use of the General Assembly and its rules to explore an issue. Typically there are various issues to explore through debate, and you’re tasked with representing your country’s interests effectively and leveraging the rules and your relationship with other delegates to effect a desired outcome, such as the passing of a resolution. Often at an MUN gathering there is a Security Council simulation as well, where a smaller group with authority to authorize actions in the real world (such as sending peacekeepers) debates more of a crisis scenario.
