– How do nerves get compressed?

For example, I’m experiencing something called foot drop in which a common cause is a compression of the peroneal nerve. How and why does a nerve compress?

Usually something compresses it, like tight socks, a bulging muscle, or overstretching.

However, it can also be caused by stripping the lipids off the neural sheath, which can be caused by diet or neurological diseases such as Charco Marie Tooth or other neuropathies.
