Like, what’s happening inside that makes us feel all tingly and nervous around someone we like? And why do we sometimes act so weird when we have a crush? Break it down for me, folks, in the simplest terms possible. Let’s decode this science of attraction.

I can answer the second part, about why we act weird around crushes. Simply put, we have an innate fear of rejection! But it goes deeper than that. Back when we lived in small groups where working together was absolutely vital for our survival, being kicked out of the group meant certain death. Even today, we avoid things (for the most part) that would cause our peers to reject us…like stealing, hurting others, etc. Asking out your crush, while not strictly necessary for survival, also taps into that fear of being ejected from the tribe and left to fend for yourself.

your brain is a part of your body, and your brain knows what you think (duh), like how your heart quickens when you feel fear, or how you salivate when you see your favorite food,

basically conciseness and your inner thoughts are not disconnected from your body, they’re actually insanely interconnected. in a sense you are your body and your body is you
