Postage stamps are available at post offices and stores. You weigh your parcel, figure out the postage, put the stamps on the package, and then leave it in a post box or at the office. Sometimes the mail carrier will take it with them.

Offices also have third-party made meters which are then preloaded with a certain dollar amount of postage. They then can print out variable denomination stamps to cover the different packages they’re mailing.
