You throw a ball at the dark, the ball bounces back, you know there is a object.
You throw many balls near the areas near where it originally impacted, and the returning balls will make a rough image of the object.
This is how radar works, by receiving radio waves to mark position of objects.
Comm jammer is where you throw a ball, but your neighbor throws 500+ balls at you. which ones your ball? It mightve hit something and bounced back, but you can’t tell, because your entire sight is clogged by your neighbors balls.
And thats how jammers work, they flood radar / area with signal, so much that you pick up everything.
Radars, very basically send out a signal and listen for a response. Jammers work by flooding a frequency with noise. Just imagine some like [something like this.](https://imgur.com/a/V1YhYhd)
With all that noise, the equipment can’t hear its own signal, therefore can’t time the response or measure anything.
ELI: Imagine you’re talking to your friend on the phone (yes, phones are used to talk to people, not just surfing the internet!) when suddenly 5 other people with your friend’s voice start talking on the phone at the same time.
Or your watching TV and your brother is watching a video on his laptop in the same room, but he turns the volume way up on his laptop so you can’t hear your tv show.
For radar, imagine you’re trying to read a sign, but then someone with a bright flashlight shows up next to the sign and shines he flashlight in your eyes.
Basically the “jamming signal” is stronger than the signal with the communications or radar information.
