Does it require a specific enviorment? A specific climate? I tried to read the wiki but I have learning difficulties and can’t really understand without a bit of help. I’m making a DnD campaign and I’m trying to figure out how a swamp island would get created

It requires lots of water and vegetation, and a flat landscape. Many lakes can have swampy areas around them, either all the way or in some places. Beaver dams can collect water and make new swamps.
