How do the Camera People on Race to Survive keep up with the Contestants?

I mean the contestants on this show in particular are insanely athletic. I know on similar shows they place cameras along pre-determined routes, but these contestants are literally making their own paths, pushing down bush to get through. Then, I thought it – could be drones? However a lot of the camera shots are somewhat shaky, making it seen like a cameraperson is getting the shot. Are these camerpeople just also insanely athletic or are there other techniques the production team is utilizing to follow these contestants?

Camera people for certain sports (e.g. running, skiing, sky diving) are just as athletic as the people they are filming.

E.g. see this camera man keeping up with sprinters:

theirs a few tricks

first off, multiple camera crews with vehicles that let them outpace the contestants, set up, get the shots and then leap frog ahead.

second, while the cast might be making their own routes, the terrain and such can often dictate that to a large degree, and the cast are telling the producers their plans off camera (for safety reasons if nothing else), so they can pre-plan and pre-position the cameras.

also, and i hate to brake your bubble here, sometimes these shows are staged, or at least certain elements within them are staged, to heighten the drama, so the cast are told they need to go via X or Y and the cameras will meet them there
