Such as teas , coffee , etcetera . I’ve always wondered and even googled it but it just doesn’t make sense to me.

You know how when you pour hot water over coffee grounds, the coffee goodness leaches out?
THey do the same thing first with other solvents (ethyl acetate, or methylene chloride). These other solvents leach out the caffeine only and leave the coffee goodness in the coffee grounds.
