I just drove through an area in Illinois with a lot of wind turbines. They’re not all oriented in the same direction. It looked like there was at least a 30 degree difference in the direction they were facing. How do they determine the orientation of each of them?

They orient themselves. Some kind of sensor or mechanism determines the wind direction, and the turbine rotates to point that way.
