I just drove through an area in Illinois with a lot of wind turbines. They’re not all oriented in the same direction. It looked like there was at least a 30 degree difference in the direction they were facing. How do they determine the orientation of each of them?

Yo only need to orient them correctly vertically. They can rotate around horizontally so they always point into the wind.
What you have seen is slight differences in current wind direction for different wind turbines
