How do they make crisps taste like specific meat and flavours?

More specifically, how do they make chicken and thyme crisps taste very distinctly different from cheese and onion crisps, or bacon-flavoured crisps?

I’m sure someone will come along with a more complete answer but here goes

I believe it’s the salts and acids in food that gives them their taste. With crisps they would just use salts and acids that are also found in the meat in question.

Probably with more up market crisps they would freeze dry the meat and make a kind of powder.
