If not, the short answer is: You draw the machine parts in big on a paper, and then use a photocopier function to make it as small as you can. You then take the smallest copy you can get and cut out of the paper the new very tiny machine you draw big in the beginning(in reality by using acids on some silicon waver with different metal layers condensed on).
