Unless it’s looped or sounds created with software… Yes. Why would they not just leave a microphone in front of an ambient sound source and then go about their business for 8 hours?? That’s like, the easiest “video” production possible.

Yep. They might loop it or whatever. But end of the day it’s an 8-10 hour video file of white noise. It might be the same half hour looped 20 times, might not be, same file size either way

They get a decent size chunk of white noise created in a DAW and they copy/paste/repeat this chunk until they get 8 hours worth. It’s really not difficult. Can be done in Ableton in 5 minutes. White noise is just a piece of audio where every audible frequency is present. It can be done with built in plugins/effects or 3rd party ones.

Imagine if someone was actually just recording something for 8 hours straight and then their neighbors start yelling and they decided to start over.

But most likely either looped or automatically generated. Both are pretty easy.

Audio software: Generate -> White noise (or pink noise is less objectionable). Duration: 36000 seconds (10 hours)

(takes 14 minutes to generate true random noise, or just copy one hour 10 times)

Video software: Import -> Audio track. Save muxed output. Upload.

What probably goes on is they record a small sample of audio with no background noise, which, because it is the same frequency throughout, can be looped seamlessly for a given amount of time.
