Imagine puzzle pieces, but instead of a normal puzzle, we want to make lines of connected pieces.
One part of the epoxy system contains only pieces with outie connectors left and right, (top and bottom are flat, we want to make lines), the other part contains only pieces with innie connectors left and right (again, top and bottom are flat)
In each part, there are only single puzzle pieces that can’t connect with each other. They form a liquid because all the pieces can move around freely.
Now pour both parts together. The pieces now fit and can form long chains. These chains mix and form chaotic stacks and knots. They can’t move anymore and make a solid.
