I know there are proofs on this but I’m not great at math, can someone dumb it down for me?

2 simple solutions I like:
1/3 = 0.33333333…….
2/3 = 0.66666666666……..
3/3 = 0.9999999999………
But 3/3 also equals 1
The other is:
x=0.99999999……….
10x=9.9999999999
Subtract x from each side and you get:
9x=9
x=1
