How does a buckle fracture heal?

The doctor said we don’t have to go back because they heal well. But how does it heal?? Does it just “stretch” back out so the bone is smooth again?

Your body will protect it, eat the bad/broken bone, and replace it with new stronger bone. Sometimes it’s smooth but sometimes the heal will leave a bump or scar. It’s okay it’ll work fine.
