How does a dishwasher get dishes so clean without any friction?

There is friction! From the water pressure. Same thing as if you’re rinsing off dishes in the sink – the water pressure blasts off debris, and the dish detergent helps break down stuff that’s stuck on more so that over a full cycle, stuff SHOULD be clean (assuming the washer was loaded correctly and things aren’t super caked on)
