How does a film director produce his film after finishing the script?

As you can see from the title, I have zero idea on movie production. So I would like to know what goes on in a production of a movie.

Normally, these jobs are all done by different people.

A writer writes the script, the film studio obtains the filing writes to it. The studio then appoint a producer from within the company and the producer goes about the busiess side of making a film. Appointing teams to ensure production actually works. They will usually appoint a director.
