I am renovating my house and I wanted to install a couple of CCTV cameras. I wanted to be aware if anyone can hack into the camera and if yes, what should I take care of to avoid the same?

As I understand it, having house cams myself and securing them best I can:
Cam hacks get access to your wifi and from there to your cams / archived footage. Locking down your wifi, changing the pw etc is the 1st thing you should do. Plenty of youtube tutes on this.
Next do the same for the cams base unit. Change the default pw.
Hackers generally find unsecured cam networks with broad searches using the default login / pw as a search parameter.
