The music is already written down the orchestra play what’s written, so what difference does the conductor make apart from the tempo?

The general concept of leadership to me need s everyone following one person just to make sure everyone’s on the same page. It’s more than anything to me. It’s not about the Authority or knowledge of that person it’s the fact that they keep everyone on the same page and in this case on the same rhythm
