its more like sculpting than drawing, you make a pass at a simple “wireframe” action, you then make passes at secondary animation, building on the “wireframe” action a good example is hair and capes, all this starts with stick drawings, nothing precious, but only moving forward when the “wireframe” is complete and minimal, imagine being an animator having to keep track of all of akiras little tentacle dicks on first pass, no way Jose, you’d have an aneurism just attempting it. (keep it simple and build in passes, use different color lines to keep track if it helps)
