how does anti cheat work on console when on pc you have download things like battleye?

anti cheat solutions on console dont need to be as complex because the system is closed and ideally any tampering or background processes is picked up and acted on since this system should only be running the game.
FOr pc this is not so simple because Pcs ARE general purpose machines that will be running other processes so the anticheat solution needs ot screen these processes to know what’s okay or not and inform the OS of anything that needs to be terminated.
