How does Anti-venom for snakebites work?

Growing up, I always thought someday I might be bitten by a poisonous snake (or encounter quick sand as well 😂) and I would read about how people would harvest snake venom in a lab or zoo to create anti-venom- to this day I don’t understand the process- can someone explain?

The venom is injected at a low dose into an animal so that the immune system is triggered. The antibodies produced by the immune system are then collected by bleeding the animal. The blood containing the antibodies is then purified resulting in antivenom.
