How does blue light actually harm our eyesight? How do blue light glasses help against this?

it doesn’t harm your eyesight, but some believe it might trick your body into think it is sunny middle of the day when it is really dark middle of the night and you should be sleeping

Blue light can impact your circadian rhythm, it tells your body when it’s morning and when it’s night. So, you actually want to get lots of blue light in the morning which is best done outside getting it from the sun. But in the evening your eyes are sensitive to even a little blue light, so you want to avoid blue light.

It’s not clear that blue light blocking glasses are healthy for your eyes. Just filtering one wavelength like that might not be good for the eyes.

So, in the evening your probably just want to avoid bright lights altogether. Maybe the night mode on devices would also help.
