How does chewing ‘strengthen’ your teeth?

If the teeth and gums aren’t muscles, how does chewing firm food improve their health? And will eating only soft food/liquids cause your teeth to fall out?

It doesn’t make your teeth “stringer”. Teeth aren’t muscles, they cannot get “stronger”

The abrasive action of food against teeth can help remove bacteria from the surface of the tooth, which can help against tooth decay. Thats why they recommend feeding pets harder, crunchier pet food, it helps clean their teeth

If you brush regularly, chewing does nothing to help your teeth

Use it or loose it doesn’t go for muscles only. Bone decay is a big concern for astronauts for example. Teeth have roots, and without “exercise” these roots lose strength.
