Light, which is made up of all colours, bounces off of an object, and depending on the colour of that object, ie green, will reflect mostly green back, but absorb the rest. Once light is reflected off of an object/ objects it enters our eyes through the pupil and cornea, which then focuses the image onto the retina, which stimulates the optic nerves and the occipital lobe in the back of our brain to translate the images to create perception or sight.
