how does fuel efficiency increase as fuel level decreases?

1.19K views

There was a post on r/theydidthemath that asked how far a fuel tanker could go if is tank was connected to it’s fuel line, the op also said to keep in mind fuel efficiency increases as the fuel level gets lower, how does that work?

The tanker will weigh less as fuel is used so there will be less weight to move. And less weight equals more efficency.
