How does insulin lower the body’s blood sugar?

Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas when it detects high blood sugar in the body. Insulin instructs cells to uptake glucose that exist in your blood. Muscle cells and Liver cells are usually the cells that respond to insulin and draw in glucose through special transporter proteins on the surface of these cells. If the amount of glucose in the blood is being drawn into the cells, then the glucose level goes down. I don’t want to go into details of Insulin-Glucose uptake biological pathway as that would take pages of notes. What I said is the very basic but I think should be pretty sufficient.
