How does Kinetic Sand work??

Okay, so sand is a particulate, and under certain circumstances it can act like a fluid.
If we add food safe silicone, (I don’t remember which one, just that it’s often used to stop fry grease from splashing) it keeps the sand consistently acting as a non-Newtonian fluid. That means that it flows differently depending on how much force is on it. The silicone also makes it antibacterial by displacing any water so microbes can’t grow between sand grains (though I’ve seen mold grow on stuff that falls in the sand because of the water in the stuff).
