how does liquid soap turn into foam when it’s pumped?

Is it the soap that makes it do that? Is there something special about the pump? Both??

Special pump. It injects a bunch of air into the liquid soap as it’s pumped.

You can reload a pump like that with regular soap and it’ll work the same as new.
