how does one find an exact location based on local ips if they always tend to be located in a different place from one’s home?

ok so ive always known what an ip was and stuff like that, but im confused as to why ips are never accurate to where people actually are. why is this

You don’t. IPs are not tied to a physical location. They’re typically assigned to regions for human manageability. So a set of IP’s might be assigned to a whole neighborhood but which IP goes to which house can constantly change
