Before I moved out I had the whitest palette known to man – one teaspoon of chilli powder in any curry was PLENTY. Now I’ve moved out and cooked for myself for a few years I can eat much spicier food without batting an eyelid. If I cook for my parents, something that doesn’t even taste spicy to me will make steam come out of their ears! How does our spice tolerance change over time?
