In terms of what to expect – they’ll put an IV in at some point before the procedure starts, they might do some sort of “time out” where they verify information right before starting, then the anesthesiologist will inject the propofol and you’ll fall asleep in a few seconds. You’ll wake up in what feels like a pretty short amount of time
I’ve watched people go under for surgery and have had propofol twice myself for endoscopies- nothing at all to worry about
