How does snake stone work ?

Just read an article about snakestone, it says that the stone can drain and absorb the venom simply by putting it on the snakebite. So, how does it work exactly ?

It doesn’t. Snake stones are an aspect of many cultures throughout history as part of folk medicine, but they don’t actually have any medicinal properties and there is no underlying science.
