How does spiral graphics affect your sense of balance?

There is a small O shaped tunnel with a bridge in the science center in Bangkok Thailand. At the other end of the tunnel there is a huge spiral graphic on a wall that keeps spinning. The bridge does not move at all and I see people trying to walk across but they can’t walk straight. I thought they were acting at first until I tried to cross it myself and legitly I felt like I drank 10 cans of beer and can barely walk, it was surprisingly hard to walk straight. One of the weirdest experience I had, kind of wished I had filmed it.

Those spinning spiral graphics are like visual tricksters—they play with your brain’s wiring in the funniest way! Essentially, they send your inner balance system into a tizzy by fooling your eyes into thinking you’re moving when you’re not.
