The surface of all the bubbles is made of the liquid, the inside carbon dioxide, so it’s the same amount of liquid just lifted up and spread out. Soda is an absolutely terrible substance to make long lasting bubbles with so they die super fast leaving the stuff that the surface of all the bubbles was made of.
