How does the sea ground keeps the water in the sea?

The found of sea is different than the ground you walk on. There is a layer of silt and dirt, but below that is actually rock. This layer, sometimes called bedrock, doesn’t let water through and is very strong. On land, there is bedrock as well. But it’s covered by dirt, soil, etc. Skyscrapers are usually built on bedrock, below the ground, because it is strong.
