Some really do make a lot of money, because they consistently produce high quality attractive videos that attract a lot of viewers.
But its not cheap to do so. Sure some people can have a one-off success that’s cheap. But to do it week after week takes hard work and lots of money reinvested in their video production business.
It costs a lot of money to make really good, attractive videos. One needs expensive video, sound, editing and lighting equipment. Money for props, or for traveling or whatever things they are featuring on the channel. Money for support staff, writers, researchers, set crew etc.
Youtube likes to promote this myth that many Youtubers are getting rich because it attracts more content, more contributors and more views. But the reality is most Youtubers aren’t making much money. The ones that are really work hard at it – and they can’t keep all their money, its continuously reinvested in new content.
