I’ve heard about this for years, only recently tried it on the screen of my Nintendo switch because I was upset that it got scratched up a bit, what kind of sorcery is that? The scratch is gone. Like gone gone.

Toothpaste is an extremely fine and mild abrasive. This is useful for cleaning gunk off our teeth but it can also be used to polish softer materials like the plastic of disks or screens.
It doesn’t fill the scratch, it wears down the surrounding materials until it is flush.
