How does Wax forms in our ears and why?

This is not answer to you but as a warning. Which everyone knows and I know too. It is not a good idea to pick your ear wax. When I learnt this I stopped picking. But fewdays back I saw that there is wax on my earphone, so I took a toothpick and used backside of it to remove wax from ear. And yesssss, it feels so good and somehow I started removing wax more and more daily. This itching part and picking part gives joy. After four days, water kind of thing started coming. Browsed internet, ear infection is common and recovers automatically, so it got stopped. Now to clean that water, comes ear bud. Feels fine again. After seven days water comes again and now I get afraid. I read somewhere in reddit, any infection near brain should not be neglected. I went to ENT, I have super fungus inside, he cleaned it, gave me drops. Again went after three days, and he cleaned more and found that I have big hole in my eardrum. He is not sure for how long it was there, and I don’t know too. Now waiting it to heal by itself, or surgery will be done.
Bottom line.. please don’t pick your ears, it feels very good, and you will destroy your ear. I like music, but now by left ear I cant feel the richness of sound which I can feel by right. People say even after hole will be repaired, I will not get original hearing. And I am sad because of that.
