because other people who search a similar query end up on the same video. the algorithm tries its best to infer what you want to see from a vague search

The video I’m referring to is [Black family tree](https://youtu.be/Bx4V4x-rU6E) found by searching “Harry meets kreacher” but that’s just one example.

Basically, the youtube ai can watch videos and detect certain things in it, it doesn’t just look at the title. Then when it finds these things in the video, it tags it as having that. When you search something, it sees if your words either match the title of video or the tags it gave.

If a video is popular or trending, youtube knows this and therefore has more information on it, more tags, which makes it more easier and accurate to search for it.

Content uploaders can mark their videos with meta tags so I am sure those combined with algorithms get the job done.
