I know Adrenaline is released into the blood from the adrenal glands. However it is still unclear to me how that gives us the ability to do spectacular things? Does it supercharge our muscles in someway or does it do something else? How does it work?

Basically it puts the circulatory system in to overdrive. Airways tend to get freer, so there’s a better oxygen flow to the body. The heart beats faster, so the oxygen gets to the muscles. The muscles have more fuel to work with, and can perform more work. And the brain is largely back-burnering any pain receptors (to one degree or another) so you can ignore things that might have hurt like hell earlier, allowing you to push the muscles further than you would normally.
