– How fast do our eyes capture images? Like how many “pictures per second” get sent to the brain?

Video and refresh rates are measured in hertz (or images per second) and seem to keep getting higher with technology. How does this compare to our eyesight? Is there a maximum “frequency” humans can process?

There is certainly a maximum that we are capable of seeing, what exactly that number is seems to be very debatable and given the human element of the question it’s near impossible to say for sure. It seems pretty safe to say we are capable of seeing at least 240FPS but above that it seems to get very iffy as to whether we see a difference or not.
