A photo is a series of pixels, so you can take a bunch of pictures of the moon through a telescope and then line up the pixels that match at the edges of each photo.. building a picture of the moon out of telescope pictures so the end result is like a huge quilt where the patchwork edges all line up.
there are two main ways:
1) take 1000 photos of the entire object; stack them on top of one another, then pick the photo that has the best image of any particular spot and use that.
2) take 1 really detailed picture of spot1 then spot 2 and spot 3……..spotXXXXX then arrange them like putting a puzzle together
