How is it safe to consume with the wrapper adhesive exposed to / in contact with the food inside?

Snack foods come in wrappers, especially individually wrapped things like bars. How’s that safe?

Lots of adhesive is entirely safe. Pretty much anything you were allowed to use in primary/elementary school for instance.
