water is a very potent radiation blocker.

Its why nuclear reactors are submerged in them.

So, when an aircraft carrier or sub is sunk, it’ll sink to a place where the radiation won’t harm anyone except the fish.

Theres a reason why nuclear-powered tanks never took off.
