I don’t understand how it’s being presented as something new and interesting and nobody seems to notice/comment on this?

It’s not in anyway or form different outside that second-life got decades worth of bug improvements and development, while metaverse has none.
Along with the fact that second-life allows adult content.
The closest thing to what metaverse does ‘new’ is VR, and people do lust for a full-dive VR game, but metaverse is not that.
Second reason that makes it different is NFTs, and when companies start to get into meme territory, you know it’s dead.
