How is WiFi 6/6e/7 better for me if I have only a 500MB internet plan?

A 2 part statement/question: I see these fancy new routers offering wifi 6,6e and 7 that support 10GB of speed per port ect… I don’t get how my 500mbs internet plan will be 50% faster (according to google) with a new router. Also I am unaware of any ISP providing 10GB of internet for standard consumers.

Unless you’re doing a lot within your home network, like streaming high res video from a server, moving or backing up large quantities of data, or you simply have a LOT of users and devices, then the newer WiFi standards probably won’t do anything for you. In fact, they could be worse because their range is a bit weaker. Where they shine is in commercial and industrial scenarios where they meet or exceed the performance of wired LAN.

If you’re an average home user with like 3-5 users and 15-20 devices connected to your router, then it’s fine to be a couple of generations behind.
