how lawn mower blades start getting dull after only cutting grass.

Say you’re a lawn mowing professional or just your regular average ol homeowner, but you’re extremely careful and never hit rocks or damage the blade in any way. The mower blades still get dull, with only blades of grass and grass is not a hard substance. How does something soft like grass, dull a lawn mower blade?

The same way that water wears away rock. Consistent contact over time dulls just about anything

Rust is part of the answer here. Same reason facial razors go dull When only cutting hair. The edge rusts and wears down.

a lot of people are giving more technical explanations but the simple answer is this. If you hit thing A against thing B enough times, regardless of what A and B are , eventually you will see damage B. Nothing is indestructible, that’s only in videogames.

No one is really that careful with their lawn mower. Especially where the grass meets any kind of concrete surface like the driveway or sidewalk or street. And the roots of trees can damage lawn mower blades too.
